QE2 Story Forum visit the Titan
27 Jun 2010
Recognised by historians around the world as one of the most
significant ships ever built, the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) was the
talk of the Clyde on the 26th and 27th of June. Members of an
online dicussion forum QE2story.com travelled from across the world
to come together for a trip on board the PS Waverley to Rothesay
and Tighnabruiach, followed by a visit up to the top of the
Titan.
Rob Lightbody who runs the forum said, "The original pupose of
the discussion forum was to keep the QE2's legendary story alive
after she retired and disappeared from view. However, with the
current uncertainty and confusion over the ship's future, we also
now serve as a news and resource hub."
The trips were enjoyed by all, and cemented the Clyde's
influential role in shaping 20th century history globally.
